`Aaron:`

We know you probably haven’t come down from the high of the Republican Midterm convention in Dallas this week, and we can’t blame you. We could go on and on about the [impressive audio/visuals](https://www.yahoo.com/news/politics/articles/empty-seats-technical-glitch-mar-122816169.html?guccounter=1&guce%5Freferrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce%5Freferrer%5Fsig=AQAAAK%5Fm2kAtsp0dIB-EgaYcdIOEFKx4aCWHBDH9qWasi5sxvtiO--4QQmTrj3v4ey697QiCX%5FNyv0PDwlH6ZdQy7MZ8iEMhlCVync5f2ByZa-GyQXDKhlPa8TBRto31ec2DtWfj7mngWRVmu3FptIW9kBzdGm5NLeWFcbGzi1lH1%5Fzl&ref=nullvoidcreative.com), the record attendance, the heroic [flooding of Grindr by patriots](https://www.sacurrent.com/news/texas-news/gay-hookup-app-grindr-experiences-dallas-outages-during-republicans-trump-a-palooza/?ref=nullvoidcreative.com) in order to DDOS it, but we really only care about one beautiful man who attended… Ken Paxton.

Null+Void may be only half Texan, but we’re full mast when talking about Paxton. He’s been in our lives for decades, and he’s done a lot for Texas (and its [real estate market)](https://www.kxan.com/news/texas-politics/ken-paxton-omits-rental-income-and-mortgages-from-financial-disclosures-obscuring-his-wealth/?ref=nullvoidcreative.com).

But what is his position on flock cameras? It’s a hot issue now, and we don’t want anyone putting words into the perfect mouth of Texas’ future senator. That’s why we produced an ad, free of charge, highlighting his stance on this ground-breaking technology. More importantly, it shows what the (gay?) communist James Talarico believes in. Which is awful and un-American, and potentially trans.

`Adam:`

Your Honor, I wasn't aware anything we made for our stupid YouTube channel and blog would ever be seen by the humor-intolerant Dodge Ram owners of America. No, I'm not sorry for hurting anyone's feelings or poking fun at reality.

I'm just sorry we got caught.

So with that out of the way — why make a bad-dumb ad for a state I don't live in and want nothing to do with? Mostly because the guy above me cares, and I think it's cool when people care. Like those bears. But not the ones you're thinking of.

This started because I texted Aaron that we should make a pro-Flock video for fun. The idea was absurd, a last grasp at something resembling satire — a real taboo these days, for some reason. That morphed into a reverse-psychology political ad for a soy-latte-sipping hippie from a state that loses power every winter.

When it comes to politics, I'm mostly checked out. I have very few leans left in my bones. I'd rather seastead while the pre-packaged sides tear each other apart. My politics run more human, more populist. I don't believe one solution fits all — I just know whatever we're doing right now isn't working for most people. At least it feels that way.

So when your blue-blooded buddy suggests making a political ad, I say fuck it, why not. Let's have a little fun and laugh along the way.

Like the bears.
